Dr. Sharda S Nandram AssistantProfessor, Nyenrode Business University, Netherlands visited DSI campus on 17 – 01 – 2008. On arrival at 9 – 30 am she was taken on a campus tour starting with a visit to the core of the campus, the Shavigemalleshwara Temple. The program started at 10.00 am with coffee session. Actual program started at 10.30 am with the introduction of the guest speaker and opening remark by Dr. H. A. Shankaranarayana, Director DSBA

Dr. Sharda spoke about the Netherlands and about the status of higher education in Netherlands with special reference to business education. She elaborately explained as to how her business school is having effective industry academia interaction and as such how it has become a nodal center for the creation of emerging entrepreneurs She also spoke of the cutting edge advantages the students would have in terms of corporate exposure if they choose to study in their school.

After the lecture there was meaningful interaction. It was observed that one of the main obstacles for an Indian student to take up the course in Netherlands is the high cost factor. Also English both as medium of communication and spoken language, it was observed, is not as strong as it is in India.
The meeting was well attended by the directors, deputy directors, heads and faculty of various management stream of DSI and HRO of DSI. The vote thanks was proposed by Mr. Moorthy, assistant professor of DSBA
